The first logo of DreamWorks Animation consists of a fishing boy holding a bunch of balloons, taking his place on the crescent moon, and releasing them while casting his fishing rod. Then, the balloons fly up to the same cloud formation as the DreamWorks Pictures logo while the balloons pop into the familiar name in rainbow colors. This version only appeared in Shrek 2 and international prints of Shark Tale. It was animated at Pacific Data Images and yU+co., using an HP workstation with custom 3D software, and is also used as a placeholder home entertainment logo on DVD/VHS releases until the DVD release of Over the Hedge.
2004–2005 (DreamWorks Animation SKG)[]

"SKG" is later added beside "ANIMATION". This version first appeared in Shark Tale and last used in Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, both distributed by DreamWorks Pictures. It can also be seen on several DWA video games.
2006-2011[]
File:DreamWorks Animation Logo (2007).jpg
As with the following logos (DreamWorks Television, DreamWorks Interactive), the logo is immediately modified, with the background clouds removed, "ANIMATION SKG" appearing in between the lines, and the boy and the moon appear above the text. This logo is first seen in Flushed Away (where "SKG" is only used between the lines, just like the standard DreamWorks Pictures logo). It was then used in Shrek the Third (where "ANIMATION" is later added beside "SKG" in between the lines) and last seen in Merry Madagascar. It can also be seen on several DWA video games, animated shorts released on DVD/Blu-ray, TV specials, and animated Nickelodeon TV shows from 2009-2014. However, this logo was used as a basis for the logo of the studio's home entertainment division until the Blu-ray/DVD release of Rise of the Guardians.

The second logo is consisted of a fishing boy on the moon, in a starry night sky with the familiar clouds. However, many variants of the logo were used due to the studio's frequent use of logo gags. This logo was animated in-house at their Glendale campus, and debuted on the 3D Super Bowl TV spot for Monsters vs. Aliens (where only "SKG" is seen in between the lines, also like the standard DreamWorks Pictures logo), with the first film using this logo being How to Train Your Dragon (distributed by Paramount Pictures) and the last being Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie (distributed by 20th Century Fox). It made a surprise appearance in the Season 2 trailer of Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous, where "ANIMATION SKG" is replaced by the Comcast byline.

These logos are just prototype on-screen logos that were from 2017 and 2018, respectively. It was seen at the end of the Christmas special Trolls Holiday, aired on NBC (albeit in a print version) and the end of the short films Bird Karma and Bilby, although the latter uses the still version of the third logo seen below.
2019–2022[]

In 2019, three years after Comcast and NBCUniversal acquired the studio, DreamWorks unveiled a new logo that consists the evolution of animation, from classic traditional to modern-day CGI, including a day-night transition. This logo also includes the byline A Comcast Company. It was showcased in the trailer of How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World, debuted on the film itself, and is last used in The Bad Guys (both distributed by Universal Pictures). This logo pays tribute to the early days of animation. The beginning of the logo has a daytime setting like the 2004–2010 DWA logo and it transitions into a nighttime setting like the 1997 DreamWorks Pictures logo at the end.
2022–present[]

|
A new logo of DreamWorks Animation consists of the boy on the moon passing by and greeting various characters from the movies and franchises made by the studio before flying up to an enhanced version of the night sky background from the 2018-2022 logo and forming the usual print logo. The sequence is created by Kendal Cronkhite, Suzanne Buirgy, and a team of 10-40 people, lasts 32 seconds, and takes eight months to complete using the studio's MoonRay rendering software, and the background of 2D art is meant to represent the matter that reconnects all life and makes up dreams. Starting with the release of Trolls Band Together, each character's appearance in the logo is expected to differ.
It made its debut in Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, sneak previewed on November 26, 2022, and officially released on December 21. This logo also pays homage to the company's entire film library and its history with successful films. It received a mixed critical reception, with many praising the return of Harry Gregson-Williams' fanfare but some criticizing the apparent lack of additional DreamWorks IPs (though it subsided due to DWA confirming the character appearance will change for each film).
