Consider the consequences of not voting for Biden
So you didn’t “like” Hillary Clinton and you decided to vote for Donald Trump. What did that cost the nation (and the world)? Trump flipped the Supreme Court and it then overturned Roe v. Wade. Trump pulled the U.S. out of the worldwide climate change accord and the climate continues to get worse. Trump was in charge of the country when COVID hit and hundreds of thousands died. He accomplished nothing in his four years. Now you think Joe Biden is old and you want to give Trump four more years to do what? Voting for him cost this country and the world. Please, don’t let that happen again. Dictatorship is not what this country was built on. If you don’t like “old” Biden, then vote for the party that is for women, stopping climate change and freedom.

Allentown Council must stop fighting, focus on solutions
Allentown Council member Ce-Ce Gerlach recently penned a Your View on the now-defeated “Homeless Bill of Rights.” I had to wonder why she chose not to address any of the council’s concerns about the bill and instead claim inherent injustice. As is often the case in today’s political environment, performative outrage took precedence over facts and reason. This bill was presented as mostly symbolic, yet Ce-Ce Gerlach and Natalie Santos simply couldn’t answer for legitimate concerns about panhandling or sleeping in city parks. Council member Daryl Hendricks accurately stated that this bill neither meets the needs of our residents broadly, nor represents even a significant portion of them in the literal sense. This isn’t to say that we shouldn’t help our homeless, rather, it’s an acknowledgement that a rising tide lifts all boats. The City Council needs to stop the infighting and bring forth real solutions to encourage meaningful investment in our city that will increase our tax base. Public safety is a prerequisite to all of this. I encourage the City Council to work with the mayor and stop with the antics that seem to be focused more on future mayoral campaigns than representing the needs of our city.

Mail carrier’s care for ill man is public service at its best
Today, someone I know collapsed in the street. Lisa, the mail carrier in our area, helped him to a nearby lawn and alerted neighbors to help him. She didn’t just stop at that kindness. Lisa recognized him, and realized that he belonged to the same congregation as I do. She drove out of her way to alert me so I could contact his family. Thanks to her, and the caring neighbors, he got prompt medical attention and is now recovering.
Lisa is the embodiment of public service at its finest.

Despite presidential deaths, illnesses, US has continued to prosper
The Republican Party, with its flexible ethics, has chosen an election denier as their standard bearer. Even though he has shown no evidence that he didn’t lose the 2020 election. There has been little attempt by Republicans to remove the twice-impeached felon, despite his continued lies.
Now some Democrats are questioning the overwhelming choice of Joe Biden by Democratic primary voters. After 3.5 years of positive leadership and extraordinary economic progress, they cast doubts on his abilities.
Eight presidents have died in office and our nation has continued to progress. Woodrow Wilson suffered a serious stroke and remained in office. FDR suffered the effects of polio throughout his amazing presidency. JFK suffered debilitating back pain until his assassination. Ronald Reagan may have had early stages of Alzheimer’s disease and still finished his second term.
It is the decision of Joe Biden, his family and his doctors to determine if he is still able to do his job. Democrats who question his abilities and the will of the primary voters are not helping us win. Instead we need supporters who will spread the word of all the good things that Joe Biden has accomplished for Americans and the world. Fair-weather Democrats are only helping the Republicans.

Some people need help identifying a con man
A con man claims to have simple solutions to big problems despite knowing almost nothing about them, and then later exclaims things like “who knew health care was so complicated” (as if he were the first person to find out). He claims he accomplished this or that when he had little or nothing to do with it. A con man tells you not to believe your own eyes and ears, not to believe others, especially the news media, and to only believe what he tells you. He routinely accuses others of wrongdoing despite the total lack of evidence, and may be guilty of what he accuses others of. A con man tells you how truthful he is despite constantly telling lies that are easily disproved. And the more gullible people are, the more they blindly follow him, the more he loves them. Remind you of anyone?
But then some people want to be conned; they want someone who will tell them only what they want to hear, no matter how ridiculous, how much of a phony and despicable he is, or even if he’s a dictator wannabe.

Wild turned her back on President Biden
I cannot vote for someone who is a fair-weather supporter. Instead of standing with President Biden, some Democrats are ready to throw him under the bus. Susan Wild is driving the bus. Instead of standing up and fighting with the president, as soon as the going gets rough, they cut and run. Sorry, Susan, I can’t trust you. If you buckle this easily, what will you do when things get really tough? Will you fight for us or hide under the bed?

How about abortion law that would target men?
Men are saying that women should not have abortions. The answer is a law should be passed that says that men should not be allowed to have sex. That will assure that women do not have abortions. It is a way in which men can take their responsibility for abortions. If men disagree with this, they should shut up and let women decide what to do with their bodies!
